About the studio
We forge answers from the knowledge you already have
CogniForge AI is a knowledge-driven applied-AI studio headquartered on West Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver. We are an AI consultancy and custom build practice — not a course provider, not an AI-income scheme, and not a wellness brand despite our .life domain. We design and ship generative-AI applications, retrieval-augmented generation systems, AI assistants, AI agents, workflow automation and MLOps for Canadian businesses that need dependable access to their own documents and know-how.
Why we exist
Organizations accumulate knowledge faster than they organize it. Policies live in PDFs. Procedures sit in wikis with stale pages. The real answers often remain in email threads and the memory of senior staff. Large language models amplified the problem: they speak confidently whether or not your sources support the claim.
CogniForge was founded to close that gap with engineering discipline. We treat retrieval-augmented generation as infrastructure — chunking, embeddings, guardrails, evaluation harnesses, data pipelines — not as a demo trick. Our forge method moves client engagements from discovery sprint through proof of concept to production deployment with measurable outcomes tracked honestly, never guaranteed.
We work with SMEs, scale-ups and enterprise teams across the Canadian market. Project scope, CAD fees and retainer structures are defined clearly before build work begins. Senior AI engineers lead delivery; client product and operations leaders stay in control of adoption and human-in-the-loop policy.
How we work
Every engagement begins with listening — not pitching. We want the questions your staff already answer manually, the documents they distrust, and the workflows where a wrong sentence has real cost. AI strategy follows from that audit, not from a generic maturity model.
Prototypes are built early and tested against real questions. We favour retrieval and prompt engineering before fine-tuning unless data clearly justifies the expense. Model evaluation runs throughout — regression sets supplied by your team, not toy benchmarks. Responsible-AI practices include access control, retention limits, bias review and explicit escalation when confidence is low.
We are a studio, not a staff-augmentation body shop. When retainers make sense, they cover MLOps, guardrail updates and support — not unlimited feature creep without scope review.
Our team approach
CogniForge AI is led by senior practitioners with backgrounds in machine learning, NLP, product engineering and knowledge management. We do not list fabricated credentials or invented awards — you hire the studio for how we think and ship, not for logos on a slide.
Engagements pair a lead engineer with domain-focused builders. Clients receive direct access during build weeks, written architecture decisions, and handover documentation that your internal team can maintain. We train your staff on operating the system; we do not replace their judgment.
Our Vancouver location keeps us aligned with Pacific time collaboration patterns and British Columbia privacy expectations. We serve clients nationally and into the United States when project fit is right.
Responsible AI stance
We build for humans-in-the-loop. AI assistants and agents should cite sources, admit uncertainty and route high-stakes decisions to people. We do not sell fully autonomous systems, zero-error promises or guaranteed ROI. PIPEDA-compliant data privacy is default in Canadian engagements — data minimization, consent alignment, and clear retention boundaries for model training versus inference.
Cogni means cognition and knowledge in our brand — not neuroscience claims or consciousness hype. Forge means building AI systems with craft — not metalworking, blacksmithing or game-mod culture. We are an applied-AI studio focused on document intelligence and retrieval systems that Canadian organizations can adopt with eyes open.
